About the press

Named for the capsule inside the altimeter.

An aneroid is the sealed, corrugated capsule inside an altimeter. It flexes as the air pressure changes and drives the needle. Airplanes and helicopters carry one, and the barometric sensor in a drone does the same job. We chose the name because, like that capsule, the books should simply be accurate.

Every Aneroid Press book is built the same way: go to the FAA's own sources, cite each point to them and explain the reasoning rather than asking the reader to memorize answers. That holds for every series we publish, from Part 107 to Private Pilot and beyond.

The Part 107 series is written by an FAA-certificated remote pilot who has passed the FAA's Part 107 knowledge test. Every regulation is worked through its own text, clause by clause, before a word of explanation is written. The goal now is to help aviators at every stage, from their first remote pilot certificate through the Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial and ATP tests, and on to aviation maintenance and helicopter certificates.

What we promise

  • Every factual statement traces to a published FAA source, listed in a dated source ledger.
  • Every practice question explains why each option is right or wrong.
  • We never claim FAA approval or endorsement, and we never publish pass-rate guarantees.

What comes next

After Part 107, the library expands to the Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Flight Instructor, Commercial, ATP and Aviation Maintenance Technician knowledge tests, with helicopter titles to follow.
